Undertaking a building project, whether a commercial one or building a home, can be daunting as a process. We understand that there are lots of traps along the way, commencing with the planning process, the purchase and subdivision of the land, the building permit process, arranging the building contract to ensure that it adequately protects you, and dealing with any disputes arising from the actual construction of the work.

We are able to deal with all aspects of this process. This might include reviewing or obtaining a planning permit through the VCAT process, advising on and helping you draft and complete your proposed building contract, terms and conditions, finding a way through the maze of subdivision and sale of property, or dealing with your building problem either on site, or the aftermath when things have gone wrong.

We also have extensive experience in dealing with the disputes arising from the building and construction projects, including arbitrations, adjudications under Building Industry and Construction Security of Payments Act, successfully handling and managing cases through both the County Court and Supreme Court Building Cases Lists. We also have extensive experience in the conduct, preparation and management of cases arising from residential projects which generally are heard by the Building and Property List of VCAT. We have a member of the Users Group of the Domestic Building List to provide input from our firm and to keep abreast of changes and developments in the Tribunal.

Our team also practices in general civil litigation in all the Courts and Tribunals, ranging from small debt matters to large matters, property damage from motor vehicle accidents, disputes over employment contracts including executives contracts, disputes arising from disputed or failed property transactions, and commercial disputes.
